Our Senior Pastor
Bishop Brandon T. Whitehurst, Sr.
Bishop Brandon Terrell Whitehurst is the Senior Pastor and Founder of Faith Tabernacle Church of Spartanburg. He started the church in September of 2014. He is a community advocate for “Hold Out The Life Line”, a mission to families that encourages physical health. He is an active member of the Baptist Ministers Fellowship of Greenville and Vicinity, South Carolina Baptist E&M Convention, Southern Christian Leaders Conference, NAACP, Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc., and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
In 2017 , Whitehurst was designated a Bishop Ordinary for the South Carolina Jurisdiction of the Restoration Fellowship International under the leadership of His Grace, Bishop Waylyn Hobbs Jr. On October 27, 2018, Whitehurst was ordained into the office of Bishop.
He is often referred to as “one who tells it like it is” and he lives strongly by Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” Bishop Whitehurst preaches and teaches, “If God isn’t ashamed of me then why should I be ashamed of God.” Faith Tabernacle Church of Spartanburg is blessed to have this mighty man of God as Pastor.

Our Mission
We walk by Faith, We are known by love, Reflecting the difference Christ makes in the world
We are a ministry built on the word of God, expanding the kingdom of God by carrying out His command to make disciples of all nations. We will build a city on earth where God and His people can meet and commune as He sees fit. If people need it, then this city will have it, and have it in app proportions, we will be that visionary community of believers where all people will be empowered and no lack will exist among them.

Walking By Faith
To walk by faith means living with trust in God’s promises, even when the path ahead is unclear. It’s a daily commitment to lean not on our own understanding but to follow Christ with confidence, knowing He is sovereign over every step. This kind of faith isn’t passive—it’s active, resilient, and rooted in Scripture. It shapes how we respond to trials, how we make decisions, and how we serve others. Walking by faith means believing that God is at work, even when we can't see the full picture, and choosing obedience over convenience.

Known By Love
Love is the defining mark of a follower of Christ. It’s not just a feeling—it’s a way of life that reflects God’s heart. Being known by love means showing compassion, grace, and kindness to everyone, especially those who are hurting or marginalized. It’s about building relationships that mirror Christ’s sacrificial love, forgiving freely, and serving humbly. In a world often marked by division and self-interest, our love becomes a testimony that points others to Jesus. It’s how we live out the greatest commandments: to love God and love our neighbor.

Reflecting The Difference
Christ transforms lives—and that transformation should be visible in how we live, speak, and engage with the world. Reflecting His difference means being salt and light: bringing hope where there’s despair, truth where there’s confusion, and peace where there’s conflict. It’s about living with integrity, pursuing justice, and offering mercy. When we reflect Christ, we become living testimonies of His grace, showing that faith isn’t confined to Sunday mornings but radiates through every aspect of life. Our presence should make people wonder, “What’s different about them?”—and lead them to the answer: Jesus.
