Bishop Brandon T. Whitehurst, Sr.

Bishop Whitehurst Bishop Whitehurstis a native of Greenville, South Carolina and the son of Virgil L. Sullivan, Jr. and Rosalind McKinney. He is the proud husband of Brenda Hughes-Whitehurst of Greenwood, South Carolina. He is the father of three children, Brandon Jr., Bryson and Belina.

He was licensed and ordained by his grandfather, Dr. Virgil L. Sullivan, Sr.. In 2017, he was designated as Bishop Ordinary for the South Carolina Jurisdiction of the Restoration Fellowship International. In 2018, he was consecrated into the office of Bishop by Bishop Waylyn Hobbs, Jr. of the Coney Island Cathedral in Brooklyn, New York.

Bishop Whitehurst graduated from J.L. Mann Academy and is an alumnus of Lander University, where he majored in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. He earned a Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Lenoir Rhyne University. In 2015, he received an Honorary Doctorate from the N.J. Brockman School of Theology.

Bishop was called to serve as Pastor of Little River Baptist Church, located in Silverstreet, South Carolina where he faithfully executed the duties of his assignment for five years, but the Lord had other plans. Stretching out on faith, he established Faith Tabernacle Church of Spartanburg in 2014.

Bishop Whitehurst is a community advocate for "Hold Out The Life Line", a mission to families that encourages physical health. He is an active member of the Baptist Ministers Fellowship of Greenville and Vicinity, South Carolina Baptist E&M Convention, Southern Christian Leaders Conference, NAACP, The Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc. and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

He is often referred to as "one who tells it like it is" and he lives strongly by Romans 1:16, "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believe". Bishop Whitehurst preaches and teaches, "If God isn't ashamed of me, then why should I be ashamed of God". Faith Tabernacle Church of Spartanburg is blessed to have this mighty man of God as our Pastor.
